Suncoast Model Flyers is based near Coolum on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. Any day is a good day for a social fly, but Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are the most popular days. Wednesday usually provides a sausage sizzle or similar and a good chat.
Facilities have been improved immensely over the past couple of years and we now boast, on site power ,water and serviceable toilet facilities . A generous area has also been allowed for camping and this is utilized on many noted occasions or just a fun fly weekend of camping.
Our membership stands at just over 150 members ranging from just 10 years old to late 80 s. The Club caters for the whole range of aircraft. from Control line , free flight, helicopters and full range of R/C aircraft. The Sunshine Coast climate is very favorable for R/C flying. Winds are generally light easterly to north-easterly.
Spectators and visiting current FAI flyers are most welcome to join us for a fly or a friendly chat at the field. For those interested in getting into the great sport of Remote Control Flying, our Club offers free flight training for all new members and a guarantee of a smiling face..
